Texas Board of Professional Engineers

The mission of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers (Board) is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the people in Texas by ensuring that the practice of engineering in the state is carried out only by those persons who are proven to be qualified and by regulating the practice of Professional Engineering in Texas.

 

State of Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB)

The statewide HUB Program facilitates the use of HUBs in state procurement. A Historically Underutilized Business is defined as a for-profit entity that has not exceeded the size standards prescribed by state law, and has its principal place of business in Texas. In addition, underutilized business are at least 51% owned by an Asian Pacific American, Black American, Hispanic American, Native American, American woman and/or Service Disabled Veteran, who resides in Texas and actively participates in the control, operations and management of the entity’s affairs.

 

Small Business Enterprise

Small Business Enterprise Certified through the Port of Houston Authority to provide Professional Engineering Services and Energy Consulting Services.

City of Houston Women & Minority Business Enterprise

Hire Houston First

The Office of Business Opportunity (OBO) is the administrator of the Hire Houston First program. It is the policy of the City of Houston as defined in the Hire Houston First Ordinance Chapter 15, Article XI, to use the City’s spending powers in a manner that promotes fiscal responsibility and maximizes the effectiveness of local tax dollars by ensuring City spending provides business opportunity to city and local businesses as a measure to support the local economy.
