ENVI Engineering was the Commissioning Agent for the new facility construction of a 16,500 square foot, two-story Legacy Community Health 5th Ward Clinic. The clinic is a full-service, Federally Qualified Health Center that identifies unmet needs and gaps in health-related services and develops client-centered programs to address community needs. The organization currently provides adult primary care, pediatrics, dental care, vision services, behavioral health services, OB/GYN and maternity, vaccinations and immunizations, health promotion and community outreach, wellness and nutrition, and comprehensive HIV/AIDS care.
Legacy Community Health chose the LEED for New Construction (NC) 2009 certification inclusive of the Enhanced Commissioning process as their quality-oriented process for achieving, verifying and documenting, that the performance of their systems and assemblies meet their defined objectives and criteria. Systems commissioned were mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
The scope of work accomplished by ENVI included fundamental and enhanced commissioning services for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems per ASHRAE Guideline 0 – The Commissioning Process. ENVI provided the LEED Credit for Energy and Atmosphere Prerequisite 1 – Fundamental Commissioning of Building Energy Systems and Energy and Atmosphere Credit 3 (EAc3) Enhanced Commissioning.
